Ann, aged 68, lives in Rickmansworth and has arthritis.
‘At one time I really hated exercise then approximately then 4 days before my 60th birthday I decided enough was enough and quit smoking. A photo of me which was taken at my dad's 90th birthday party helped.
I was retired so I had more time on my hands for me. I now love exercise and do up to six classes a week at my local leisure centre and I’m passionate about encouraging others to join in too.
I belong to an over 50s dance group supported by the Saracens Sports Trust and our local council. We have even performed at Wembley stadium!
I have arthritis in my knees and my consultant is encouraged by my being so active as I am now delaying – hopefully permanently – the need for a knee replacement.’
