Continuous professional development (CPD)
Continuous professional development and learning is an integral part of what we do, and we encourage staff to take personal ownership for their learning and career development. We believe this approach enables staff to deliver our changing demands and support the priorities of our members.
Our approach includes formal learning such as:
- coaching programmes,
- equality and diversity training,
- and informal opportunities such as presenting your work at an all staff meeting.

We are driven by our organisational values of Learning, Courage, Inclusive and Integrity and believe that learning happens every day in the workplace, through: collaboration and problem solving and cross directorate teams working together.
We encourage all staff to undertake both formal and informal learning, and focus on two or three development needs or goals that are important to their performance and career progression.
