The Allied Health Department provides education and training for six different allied health professions, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diagnostic radiography, radiotherapy and oncology, paramedic practice and operating department practice.
Our pre-registration awards are approved in the UK by the Health Care Professions Council.
All our courses include interprofessional modules, where you're taught alongside students from the other allied health professions, as well as nursing, midwifery and social work students. This kind of teaching reflects the way the different health professions work together in the real world. Our interprofessional modules are delivered by a multi-professional team of lecturers, and backed up with a range of digital learning resources such as case study scenarios, virtual communities and e-lectures.
About the faculty
The Faculty focuses on health and wellbeing for people and organisations. It recognises the opportunity offered by the expansion of health provision, not only in the healthcare professions and in social care, but also in biosciences, sport and leisure.
