This is an exciting opportunity to join the FES team at the National Clinical FES Centre in Salisbury.  We seek to recruit a neuro-physiotherapist who wishes to develop a speciality in neurological rehabilitation and the application of functional electrical stimulation (FES).

The successful applicant will provide clinical input to both NHS and privately funded patients attending the National Clinical FES Centre and OML.  The service provides FES for clients with neurological impairment and functional limitations and includes the application of FES for upper and lower limb management as well as specialist applications such as assisted cough and bowel management.  The service also provides a neurotherapy service, including 1:1 assessment and treatment for patients with neurological conditions.  The successful applicant will also provide assistance with the PD Warrior exercise classes and may to run the classes following the necessary training courses.    

The post holder will assist in the delivery of training and mentorship to internal and external FES clinicians through OML FES accreditation courses (both face to face and on-line); conferences and exhibitions. They will also be involved in promotion of FES, showcasing OML’s products and services and will become an advocate FES as a valuable adjunct in the management of patients with neurological conditions to optimise wellbeing, independence and quality of life.

The post offers good opportunities for continuing professional development and will provide opportunities to assist with the research, development and assessment of new FES techniques and introducing them into clinical service.

The post may involve occasional travel within the UK. Only occasional weekend working is required and there is some opportunity for flexible working once competencies have been met.
