Vacancy details

As a result of an exciting service development we are looking for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join the Specialist Community Learning Disability Team in the west of Cumbria. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to develop the Physiotherapy service for the clients we work with.

 The Learning Disabilities Service in Cumbria is a supportive multi-disciplinary team who are committed to using a person-centered approach to promote a good quality of life for adults with learning disabilities.  We are an experienced, consistent team who have positive working relationships with clients, carers, families and members of the wider multi agency team.

 You will work with adults with learning disabilities, their families and carers providing appropriate specialist assessments and interventions, training and provision of equipment where necessary. You will utilise your skills and experience to grow the service in west Cumbria.

 You will be enthusiastic, creative and flexible, able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.  You must have Senior Experience working with complex patients from; community, Paediatric, neurology or learning disability areas of specialism. Knowledge of postural care is an advantage but training can be provided in post. You will be supported by experienced Specialist Physiotherapists within the county.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4 = deduction from salary as a one off payment or over 3months at £10 a month

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4 = deduction from salary as one off payment or £15 deduction from 1st months salary, £11 deduction from salary over following 3 months.
