The Biomedical Engineering Dept. at Strathclyde University is offering two online courses on clinical gait analysis for physiotherapists. Featuring case studies, narrated theory talks, gait data, video clips, self-assessment quizzes and discussion forums we cover everything from the basic theories of gait to complex three-dimensional case studies. Each course lasts about 6 weeks with around 20 hours of study, organised at your convenience.
Course 1: Introduction to Clinical Gait Analysis: An online CPD course
This covers the basics. Prior knowledge of biomechanics or gait analysis is NOT expected.
Course 2: Gait Analysis for Neurological Conditions: An online CPD course
There is an expectation of some prior knowledge of basic gait analysis. The course will focus on neurological conditions (CP, Stroke, SCI) and cover:
1. Kinematics: 3D
2. Kinetics: GRF, Moments and Powers
3. Electromyography: Instrumentation and interpretation
4. Energy: calculation and interpretation
