This 2-day multidisciplinary course is aimed at all grades of doctors, nurses and Allied Health Professionals who have some experience of treating people with Parkinson’s. It will address the management of all 4 stages of Parkinson’s from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Delegates may have previously attended the Derby Parkinson’s Courses or other relevant training, and some pre-course learning material will also be available. The course includes dinner on the Monday evening and a complimentary copy of Parkinson’s Disease: a Multidisciplinary guide to Management edited by Fiona Lindop & Rob Skelly which may be used in group work during the course.

The programme will cover the principles of multidisciplinary team (MDT) working including integrating an understanding of emotion, behaviour and cognition into MDT working. Motor and non-motor symptoms will be covered and principles of therapeutic management for different AHP disciplines. Bone health, dementia and the impact of hospitalisation on people with Parkinson’s will also be included. Each session will be led by a clinical specialist in the field of Parkinson’s and some group work is included.
