About your opportunity:
Permanent full-time / Location: Townsville
This position will provide expert diagnosis, advanced clinical skills and case management of patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions referred to Specialist Medical Outpatients (Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics) for opinion and management as part of the Physiotherapy Screening Clinics and Multidisciplinary Services within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate expert level of knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary surgical and non-surgical management of complex musculoskeletal conditions commonly referred to Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical specialty services.
- Communication: Demonstrate ability to provide authoritative clinical counsel to key stakeholders as well as effectively communicate with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team and clients.
- Clinical Ability: Demonstrate ability to provide expert case management and consultancy across the multi-disciplinary team; act as an expert resource providing specialist clinical and educational advice on complex clinical matters across the THHS.
- Leadership: Lead the development and review of physiotherapy and cross-discipline treatment protocols and related service procedures that support the continuum of care, high standards of care and optimal clinical outcomes.
Generous remuneration package value up to AU$167,587 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $5395.60 to $5630.00 p.f. (HP5)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:
- Proof of qualification (Physiotherapy) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- Significant professional development and experience relevant to the physiotherapy management of complex musculoskeletal conditions is required. A post graduate Masters Qualification, Tier 2 APA membership or equivalent in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is highly desirable.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
