Leadership takes centre stage at CSP conference in Northern Ireland

CSP members from across Northern Ireland converged in Belfast for the 2023 annual conference.

This year, the CSP's annual conference unfolded across all four UK countries, with the Northern Ireland event hosted at the Hilton in Belfast.

Physiotherapy professionals from both Northern Ireland and the wider UK came together, facilitating the exchange of insights and best practices spanning various facets of the profession.

Distinguished speakers delved into an array of topics, including informatics and encompass, the vital role of effective communication, the evolution of First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) in Northern Ireland, the advancements in musculoskeletal practice, and the pathways leading to personalised patient care, among others.

Furthermore, the CSP had the honour of hosting renowned sports physiotherapist, Belfast-born, Professor Phil Glasgow, who delivered an insightful keynote address.

Under the theme of "Leadership as Practice," Phil imparted valuable wisdom to conference attendees.

He told delegates that:

Practitioners should constantly strive to become the best versions of themselves, a goal that necessitates the support of a strong team.

Being an exceptional leader involves a dedicated focus on your objectives and the ability to adapt, recognising that no situation is ever perfect
