Respiratory Medicine/CF
Come and join our Physiotherapy team in the Western General Hospital in one of the most visited cities in the world – Edinburgh!
We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, proactive physiotherapists to join our Respiratory Medicine and CF Physiotherapy team at the Western General Hospital. The Physiotherapy team is embedded within the Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis multi-disciplinary teams. You will clinically lead and develop the Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis Physiotherapy service in conjunction with the Respiratory Team Lead Physiotherapist. You will deliver physiotherapy assessments and treatments to our complex patients with chronic respiratory conditions including Cystic Fibrosis within Ward 54 - the respiratory ward in the Western General Hospital. You will also help clinically lead a CF service provided to a Transition clinic for young adults at the Royal Hospital for young children, attend multi-disciplinary clinics at the WGH, and provide input for some patients in their home setting as well as contribute to wider Scottish clinics. In addition, there is an opportunity to contribute to the creation and development of a new outpatient respiratory service at the WGH site.
Candidates must display evidence of extensive clinical experience in a variety of acute respiratory in- patient and community areas. Previous experience in CF would be desirable but not essential. Ability to prioritise, assess and treat a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members / students is expected, as is evidence of multi-disciplinary working. A background in service development with knowledge of QI methodology is required.

in-depth experience as a band 7 Clinical Specialist physiotherapist and gain or add to expertise in the
area of CF and respiratory medicine.
