We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our team in Leicester.

Job Summary:

  • Working as a member of the Prosthetic MDT within the Prosthetic department of The Leicester Specialist Mobility Centre
  • Managing an identified caseload of patients effectively and efficiently including responsibility for pre-amputation consultations, treatment of paediatric cases and patients with complex, multi amputation issues
  • A passion to implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise their rehabilitation potential – including decision making regarding discharge from care and appropriate follow-up
  • Be actively engaged in training with a drive to develop themselves, others and the service

Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Experience of working with amputees is desirable
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, professional and ethical issues and of legal issues (data protection, confidentiality, health and safety)
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise own caseload, ensuring overall caseload is managed effectively
  • Basic computer, keyboard and IT skills, knowledge of working within patient databases
  • Carry out assessments by using analytical/problem solving skills to formulate treatment and management plans for patients with varying needs applying clinical and evidence based reasoning
  • Utilise a high level of interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate complex clinical and non-clinical information clearly, both verbally and in writing, adapting this to the individual recipient
  • Educate patients and carers and other professional’s in the safe use of equipment provided

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Physiotherapy degree or relevant degree in professional field
  • HCPC registration
