Are you an experienced Physiotherapist with an interest in medical and respiratory inpatients looking for the next step in your career?

About the role and our team

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Medical Team on the Isle of Man!

Within this role, you will assess inpatients with a range of medical or respiratory conditions, develop and implement individualised evidence based treatment programmes and facilitate a safe and timely discharge from hospital. Day to day you will ensure the effective running of the team of medical physiotherapists and support staff.

You will work closely alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team especially occupational therapy and will be the physiotherapy lead within the ward based NIV service. You will be actively involved in the provision of the out of hours on call service.

This role allows you to expand your leadership skills and develop others by leading in-service training to different staff groups, supervising colleagues and students, and identifying areas of service for development/audit, leading these projects with support from the team. We are looking for someone with a flexible and adaptable approach to be part of our small and friendly team. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, we’d love to hear from you!

What can this role offer me?

By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

You will have access to fantastic in-house training courses and leadership development opportunities. Funding for further training and development opportunities identified in your development appraisals may also be available. As well as this, you will receive an additional pay allowance when taking part in the combined respiratory and orthopaedics on call rota and when working bank holidays.

Free parking will also be available to you at Nobles Hospital.

About the Island and relocating

Here you can enjoy a fantastic quality of life, and an excellent work-life balance! There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities; so if you like walking, mountain biking, sailing or kayaking, you’ll have lots of places to explore!

There are also lots of great cafes, bars and restaurants, and you can enjoy the Island’s real sense of community. The island is well connected to the UK, and you’ll also benefit from low income tax rates (20% maximum rate).

If you are relocating or returning to the Island, you can also benefit from the National Insurance Holiday Scheme, which allows you to apply for a refund on your NI contributions for your 1st year of living here. To see how this scheme could benefit you, and to find out more about relocating to the Isle of Man, visit www.locate.im.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.
