As one of three schools in the Faculty, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is the largest School and delivers undergraduate and post graduate courses for a range of health professions including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, and most recently diagnostic radiography.
The physiotherapy portfolio includes two pre-registration courses (BSc Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy and Leadership), post-graduate courses (MSc Advancing Physiotherapy Practice, MSc Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and a PgCert First Contact Practitioner). We also offer pre-registration apprenticeships at BSc and MSc levels in Coventry and on our new London campus. The existing academic team has been developed to include new teaching fellow roles
Teaching Fellows at Coventry University support teaching, assessment, curriculum development, and course co-ordination. They are involved in the development and delivery of teaching and other core activities to ensure that students have an effective learning experience. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction with a focus on experiential learning through interactive learning, practical skills sessions and clinical placements.
We are seeking to recruit applicants who are committed to contributing to our continued success in teaching within all fields of physiotherapy and are enthusiastic about developing the professionals of the future. You will exhibit excellent team working skills and will be able to demonstrate collaborative working within academic or practice communities. Applicants should also possess a comprehensive understanding of physiotherapy practice, supported by research and/or evidence-informed practice. At fellow or senior fellow level, applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise preferably holding a higher degree in a physiotherapy related subject. Experience of teaching students, either within a HEI or as a practice educator, would be advantageous. However, the University offers academic and professional development opportunities and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification leading to HEA accreditation. All applicants must be registered on the HCPC physiotherapy register.
The successful applicant will be appointed to either an assistant, fellow, or senior teaching fellow post, dependant on your professional qualifications, clinical experience and teaching experience.
