The NHS Staff Council, made up of NHS employers and trade unions, has issued a joint statement outlining arrangements for leave and pay in England for the additional bank holiday on Monday 19 September.
The statement follows a confirmation from NHS England that it expects NHS employers to honour the public holiday, with pay and time-off arrangements in line with general public holidays.
Wales, Scotland and Health and Social Care Northern Ireland have all issued statements confirming at a national level that general public holiday arrangements for pay and time-off will be followed.
