Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy

Are you a dynamic and resourceful physiotherapist who would like to work in our physiotherapy teaching team to develop the physiotherapists of the future?

Coventry University is achieving an unprecedented level of success, and this is an exciting time to join Coventry University, and the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health. With a University Gold Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) rating and a ranking of 2nd in the UK for Teaching Excellence, our vision is to continue to enhance our position as a leading provider of innovative education and impactful research both nationally and across the world.

Over the past few years Coventry University has widened its portfolio of physiotherapy courses which now includes BSc, pre-registration MSc, and post-graduate MSc full-time courses. We also offer undergraduate and post-graduate apprenticeships in Coventry and on our new London campus. This widening of provision has given us the opportunity to restructure our teaching team.

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapists, particularly from a cardio-respiratory or neurological background, to contribute to teaching across all the courses offered within the physiotherapy portfolio. All applicants must be registered with the HCPC.

The successful candidate will have excellent team working skills and will be able to demonstrate collaborative working within academic or practice communities. They will also possess an excellent understanding of a specialist area of physiotherapy practice and be able to demonstrate research and evidence-informed practice within that area. At a lecturer or assistant professor level, applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise preferably holding a higher degree in a physiotherapy related subject. Experience of teaching students, either within a HEI or as a clinical educator, would be advantageous.

The post is a full-time post. The post and salary are dependent upon the skills and qualifications of the individual. Job descriptions will be available upon request from the Human Resources Department.

The University offers academic and professional development opportunities and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification leading to HEA accreditation.
