An exciting opportunity has arisen within Community Respiratory with Solent East NHS Trust Specialist Services for a Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapist or Nurses to work with our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service and Home Oxygen Service. We are in the process of joining these two teams after years of excellent collaborative working together. The successful candidate with have a primary bias of Pulmonary Rehabilitation but expected to show competence across the whole respiratory service including Home Oxygen Therapy.
To succeed in this post you will need to have an interest in managing patients with chronic respiratory disease and ideally have some understanding of pulmonary rehabilitation, home oxygen therapy and chronic respiratory disease management. Both caseloads mainly comprises of patients with Bronchiectasis, COPD, Interstitial Lung Diseases.
Working across the whole service you will proactively support our newly integrated respiratory approach to the long-term management of this varied group of patients and their needs. This will include the assessment and delivery of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation exercise and education programme and the assessment and review of home oxygen therapy. Delivery of these services occurs in various settings including a patient’s home, community clinics and community/fitness centres, therefore there is an expected level of appropriate autonomy and lone working whilst working as part of the wider MDT.
The successful candidate for the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service bias will work across numerous groups across the large footprint of Fareham and Gosport, South East Hants, North Hampshire and Portsmouth, however offer support to the Home Oxygen Service within Portsmouth City. The office base is St Mary’s Health Campus, Portsmouth.
You will be required to drive for this role so a car owner is essential with a full licence.
Within their role the successful candidate will further contribute to the leadership and management of the service including supervision of staff, to deputise as appropriate for the Team Leads and senior members and play an active role in service development. This provides an ideal opportunity for someone to develop leadership skills in addition to their clinical practice.
The successful applicant will have NHS experience within the field of respiratory care and possess excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment and teaching skills. You will have sound IT skills and demonstrate the Trust’s values of Honesty, Everyone Counts, Accountable, Respectful, Teamwork.
