We are recruiting for a Lead Cardio Thoracic Physiotherapist to be based at the prestigious Bupa Cromwell Hospital in Kensington, London. This hospital receives both UK and international patients and is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare for patients. This post provides assessment, treatment and discharge planning to a caseload of adults with varied and often complex needs.
You shall be a highly skilled physiotherapist who is able to undertake all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner as well as leading the physiotherapy provision to Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) and the Cardio Thoracic Physiotherapy Team.
Primarily you will provide a client-centred and evidence-based service to adult patients referred from AICU and may provide care for patients on other wards i.e. cardiac, oncology and the general medical/surgical wards as your AICU caseload allows.
Your caseload will consist of management of intubated and ventilated patients, patients with respiratory conditions including complex respiratory management of unwell non-intubated patients, management of patients post-thoracic, abdominal or liver surgery and rehabilitation component of care.
The Lead Physiotherapist will be responsible for operational, clinical and staff issues relating to this critical care physiotherapy team and will be responsible primarily to AICU to address requests by the Lead Consultant in AICU.
The successful candidate:
- Degree in physiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- CSP Membership
- Proven experience in the field of cardiothoracic physiotherapy and working in AICU/Critical Care
- On call experience
- Sound clinical reasoning skills
- Experience and competence in providing appropriate respiratory aids
- It would be desirable to be able to demonstrate participation in wider departmental/hospital duties and have experience in respiratory weaning in AICU.
