An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the Children’s Physiotherapy team based within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The successful applicant will be an experienced clinician who has previously worked within Paediatrics. 

We are looking for a self-motivated and forward thinking clinician who is a strong team player with the ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. Possessing a solid foundation in core clinical skills you will embrace innovation and be committed to following evidence based clinical practice. 

The post will require the successful candidate to work from a variety of locations depending on the needs of the service. This could include acute/community cover. Inpatient delivery currently is at The Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport and Nevill Hall Children’s Ward. In 2021 the inpatient paediatric delivery for Aneurin Bevan will be relocated with the opening of a new critical care unit in Cwmbran. The Grange Hospital will host all acute paediatric services and the post holder maybe required to assist in the delivery of respiratory/orthopaedic physiotherapy services to this site. 

Community delivery is from Serennu Children's Centre in Newport, Caerphilly Children's Centre, Nevill Hall Children's Centre in Abergavenny. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of children working within the community, clinic and ward setting. The successful applicant will be required to move between multiple sites within Gwent. 

The Physiotherapy Service encourages staff development through local and Health Board wide in-service training programmes across different specialities, as well as participation in speciality forums, clinical audit, research and clinical supervision and mentoring. 

We have a structured personal appraisal system with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework. You will be actively involved in assisting in the education and mentoring of rotational staff, physiotherapy technicians and physiotherapy students whilst on placement from Cardiff University. 

The post holder will be expected to participate in the adult/paediatric respiratory on call rota, and any other rotas where clinically appropriate and 7 day working practices that the physiotherapy service supports. 

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and or English Speakers are equally welcome to apply.
