The CSP responds to the latest developments in the Brexit negotiations.
The government has announced that EU citizens in the UK will continue to have the right to live, work and study in the country post-Brexit.
The joint report published today reaffirms the rights of EU nationals in the UK and further protects the rights of citizens who have not yet been granted permanent residency. The same rights will also apply to UK citizens residing in the EU.
Rob Yeldham, Director of Strategy at the CSP, said:
‘This is good news for the estimated 3900 European physios working in the UK. The agreement seems to guarantee that European Citizens and their families who are living here when we leave the EU will continue to have the same rights as they do now. The same will apply to our members working in Europe.’
‘The agreement will allow the UK to require European citizens to register their residency to qualify for these rights. It will be important that this is a simple a process as possible.’
