The CSP has launched an updated online equality toolkit for reps, managers and other members.
The toolkit contains user friendly advice on best practice and the law, and outlines the protection against discrimination provided by the law, employer policies and case studies.
The new resource, which updates a 2012 CSP equality and diversity toolkit, can be used by physiotherapy managers and CSP stewards to prompt discussion among staff of equality and diversity at work.
It covers each statutory equality strand and the differences in legislation across the four UK countries.
The kit has been developed with input from the convenors of the CSP’s diversity networks, self-organised groups of CSP members that cover DisAbility members, LGBTQ+ members, and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic members.
An equality, diversity and inclusion strategy
Commenting on the revised toolkit, CSP Chief Executive Karen Middleton said: ‘I urge every manager and rep to use the toolkit.
The CSP is committed to tackling discrimination in the workplace and beyond
'Updating the toolkit is just one of the actions we are taking to help members address issues at work whether direct discrimination or unequal outcomes for different members.’
The CSP has issued a policy statement setting out our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion. And the society is currently developing an equality, diversity and inclusion strategy.
The new strategy is expected to be agreed by the CSP before the end of the year. In the meantime a range of existing equality projects are continuing to be progressed.
