Public Health Wales (PHW) has paid £5,000 towards a print run of 23,000 bilingual versions of a falls prevention booklet.
Pip Ford: Encourage your Twitter followers to get some copies using the #codiamynd hashtag
The CSP publication, titled Get up and Go in English, provides information, checklists and advice on preventing falls. It was developed in partnership with SAGA.
Copies of the bilingual version can be ordered from the Health Promotion Library (tel 0845 606 4050) or from the CSP’s Cardiff office.
Letters have gone out to all GP practices and all public health teams in Wales and the booklet is being shared widely with other AHPs and networks across Wales, said CSP Wales public affairs and policy manager Philippa Ford.
‘It's very exciting and excellent to be working with PHW on this important area of falls prevention.
‘We want the publication to be used far and wide with an ultimate aim of preventing people from falling and cutting the number of people who come into hospital with a fall.
‘It’s ambitious – but the physiotherapy profession can really play an important role in this area,’ said Ms Ford.
‘Please feel free to share with colleagues and networks – pass it on. And – if you are on twitter, encourage your followers to get some copies. Use the hashtag #getupandgo or if you use Welsh #codiamynd’
