In April 2024, the CSP published its position statement on transphobia. The statement guides the CSP in interpreting transphobia and from this statement, eight commitments were made.
Members who attend the CSP webinar for trans awareness week can expect to gain a deeper understanding and insight on transgender discrimination in the workplace, the role of networks and workplace representatives, and learn more about professional guidance that the CSP has produced to guide you in working with transgender people in physiotherapy practice.
During this 90 minute webinar you will learn about:
- Transgender discrimination in the workplace – we will hear from Quinn Roache, TUC LGBT+ policy officer who will present the latest research from the TUC on the experiences of transgender people in the workplace.
- The role of CSP networks and workplace reps – we will hear from a member of the CSP LGBTQIA+ network committee and a CSP workplace rep on the role that diversity networks and workplace reps can play in supporting members experiencing transgender discrimination.
- CSP Professional guidance – we will hear from Ash James, CSP Director of Practice & Development about the guidance that the CSP has produced to help members working with transgender people in physiotherapy practice.
There will also be a Q&A at the end of the session with the speakers.
This webinar will be recorded and made available to all CSP members.
