I read about a change to holiday pay – what’s happening?

The Employment Appeal Tribunal recently gave its judgement on an important case concerning holiday pay. It ruled that the calculation of holiday pay should include overtime pay, commission and some allowances. The ruling applies only to the statutory 20 days’ holiday entitlement rather than to all contractual leave and there are strict time limits on claims for back pay. If you believe you are affected by this judgement you should speak to your CSP steward. If there is no CSP steward in your workplace you should speak to your manager to enquire how the employer intends to implement the decision.
