Challenging pay cuts

Our collective strength as a trade union means we can challenge the real-terms pay cuts that many members are facing. By acting together, we can push for the pay levels that our members deserve. With NHS pay levels often serving as a benchmark for non-NHS pay, our influencing and campaigning with other unions directly impacts the pay of physiotherapy staff, wherever they work.

Claim tax relief

You may be eligible to claim tax relief on money you’ve spent on uniform, travel, CSP membership and HCPC registration. Read our guide on income tax relief to find out more.

Equal pay toolkit

The CSP have worked with The Equality Trust, trade unions, academics and HR professionals to create The Equality Trust’s toolkit for achieving equal pay in your Workplace. 

The Equality Trust's toolkit has been created to help employees, workers and union representatives address pay inequalities by examining workplace policies and practices that contribute to unequal pay.

Financial support

The Physiotherapy Benevolent Fund (PBF) provides financial assistance to CSP members facing financial hardship.

Assistance may include:

  • A financial monthly allowance
  • A 'one off' Grant
  • Contribute to purchase of personal assistive equipment - e.g. specialised wheelchair
  • CSP Subscriptions
  • Interest Free Loan for a specific purpose
  • Advice on benefits and financial planning
  • Support for applications and tribunals
  • Specific debt advice

Refer and reward scheme

The CSP member referral scheme is your opportunity to share the value of membership and help grow our community. 

When you refer a new member to the CSP, through our Refer and Reward scheme, both you and the new member will receive a £10 Love2Shop reward code which can be exchanged for a variety of vouchers, gifts, and experiences.
