Understanding and overcoming health inequalities in the North East
The CSP North East regional network invites you to step away for an evening and spend some time thinking about how you can make your service more accessible at a free webinar for CSP members which will provide insight, advice and inspiration on health inequalities.
- Wednesday 25 September
- 19:00 – 20:30
- Book your free ticket online
Healthcare systems are prioritising tackling health inequalities and the physiotherapy profession is well placed to help achieve this. The webinar will outline what health inequalities are and specifically what challenges and opportunities are pertinent in the North East. Delegates will learn about how health inequalities impact clinical practice, service delivery and the local community.
The agenda
- Service users will give their perspective on accessing physiotherapy, and healthcare generally, posing the question how can physiotherapy staff ensure a positive experience for all patients?
- Esther Carr, Senior Physiotherapist and Waiting Well Lead, South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, will share information on a pre-operative health and wellbeing programme designed to reduce health inequalities and optimise people for surgery
- A Q&A session plus an overview of what health inequalities are with a focus on the North East region.
The event is suitable for all physiotherapy staff who are CSP members plus physiotherapy students. Although the focus will be on the North East the webinar is open to all CSP members nationwide.
We recommend that you also review the CSP's webpages on health inequalities which are full of resources.
