Accessibility standards
We have built this website in accordance with the RNIB's See it Right guidelines. RNIB have audited the site and have awarded it with a See it Right logo to show compliance with their guidelines.
This equates to meeting all priority one checkpoints, most priority two checkpoints and some priority three checkpoints from the W3C web content accessibility guidelines. In simple terms, this means we have taken almost every reasonable effort to make our site accessible to all users.
Site map
You can access a full list of the pages on our site by using the site map.Style
The site uses style sheets to control font colours and sizes. You can override the standard settings through your web browser preferences.Navigation
There are two 'hidden' shortcuts at the very start of each page that can take the user straight to the main navigation area and to the main content area.Users can access all parts of the site whether they are using a screen reader, a text browser, or a keyboard without a mouse.
Access keys
You can jump directly to many sections of the site using access keys. By pressing the ALT key in combination with an access key, then pressing the RETURN key, you can automatically select the following pages:
- Alt + 1: Main navigation area
- Alt + 2: Main content area
- Alt + 3: Home
- Alt + 4: Accessibility
- Alt + 5: Site help
- Alt + 6: Site map
- Alt + 7: Contact CSP
- Alt + 8: Print page
- Alt + 9: Login / register
(Mac users should press the CONTROL key plus the access key without pressing the RETURN key).
PDFs and other downloadable documents
We have chosen to publish most of our documents as PDF files. Wherever practical, we have also created an HTML version of each document for ease of access.
Where we don't offer an HTML alternative version of a PDF file, you can try Adobe's online PDF converter which attempts to reproduce the content of submitted PDFs into either a text or HTML file.
For information on the accessibility of PDF files, please visit the Access Adobe website.
For general help with downloading and opening files, see the downloads section of our help page.
